This double walled vacuum insulated construction can result in few or no condensation rings left on furniture when the mug is used to hold a cold beverage in a hot and humid climate. Anyone who has enjoyed a cold glass of lemonade on a hot day has noticed condensation on the outside of the glass. That condensation is what makes the glass wet on the outside. When you set a glass covered with condensation down on a table or other surface water will often run off and leave a ring where the glass was setting. A good vacuum insulation system will prevent the outer shell of the mug from getting cold enough to cause condensation even in the most humid environment. This can easily prevent condensation rings on furniture.
The size of your mug depends on how much coffee you want to bring with you. This is easy to determine - how much coffee do you drink on the way to work? You want a mug that will hold all your coffee, but not much larger than that. A thermal mug that is full will retain heat better than one that is only half full. It's also easier to deal with a smaller mug than a larger mug. The base size is also important. Most thermal mugs designed for travel have a base that will fit in a standard car cup holder, but some have larger than normal bases. Occasionally the design of the handle will also cause trouble with car cup holders, so that should be taken into consideration.
What do you want your travel mug to be made of? Do you like stainless steel, plastic, ceramic, or all three? Personally, I prefer stainless steel travel mugs with a plastic lid. Double insulated stainless steel travel mugs that are stainless on the inside and out are the best. They are extremely durable and attractive. If you buy a high quality stainless mug it can last you for years.
